Four Steps to a More Caring and Just Economy

Eisler offers a 4-step framework for building a more caring & just economy in her 2019 Bretton Woods keynote speech: What’s Next? Beyond Capitalism and Socialism.

  1. Recognize that our old economic systems came out of domination-oriented times.
  2. Recognize the interconnection of economic and social systems
  3. Recognize the economic value of caring for people and for nature.
  4. Change our measures of economic health.

Riane Eisler’s U.N. Address on “Caring for People and for our Mother Earth”

“What we need is a major cultural shift,” Dr. Eisler told U.N. delegates as she joined global leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on April 20th, 2011.

In her speech, Dr. Eisler stressed that much of the suffering, hunger, poverty, and violence challenging the world today is a symptom of the “domination paradigm” of race over race, man over woman, and human over nature.

Riane Eisler was so far ahead.

Now she is right on time.

“The Real Wealth of Nations gives us a template for the better world that we are so urgently seeking. As practical as it it is hopeful, this brilliant book shows how we can build economic systems that meet both our material and spiritual needs.”

Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu

“The Real Wealth of Nations is a call to action. I wholeheartedly agree that it is not only politicians, businesses and financial institutions that must change, but rather each one of us must play a role in developing a more caring society. This book is an important tool that can help us make that happen.”

Jane Goodall

“The Chalice and The Blade is the most important book since Darwin’s Origin of the Species.”

Princeton Anthropologist Ashley Montagu

“Sacred Pleasure is Eisler’s most stunning, far-reaching, and practical gift—both to readers and a world that must change or perish.”

Gloria Steinem

“Some books are like revelations, they open the spirit to unimaginable possibilities. The Chalice and the Blade is one of those magnificent key books that can transform us.”

Novelist, Isabel Allende

“The Real Wealth of Nations is an essential tool for government leaders, politicians, economists, and everyone looking for ways to halt environmental destruction, eradicate poverty, stabilize population, and build a better future.”

Vigdis Finnbogadóttir, President of Iceland 1980-1996

“Sacred Pleasure has everything you have always wanted or should have wanted to know about sex— and about love, pain, pleasure, spirituality, and society. A monumental opus: fascinating and important.”
