The first Real Wealth Community Presenters training was launched by the Center for Partnership Studies in Seattle, Washington on November 6-8, and was a rousing success! This is a free training for volunteers who want to create the "mind shift" urgently needed at this critical time. Drawing from The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics, it is modeled on Al Gore's Climate Change Project, with each presenter committing to making 10 presentations over a year using the power point and manual developed by Alene Moris, nationally recognized trainer and consultant, and Cheryn Weiser and Sara Saltee from Strategic Learning Resources. It will be offered again next year. If you are interested, please apply. This is a chance to make a difference -- and engage others to do the same! Space is limited to the first 100 applicants accepted. For more information and to access the application, please click here:

THE REAL WEALTH
PUBLIC POLICY PROJECT
Riane Eisler and prominent advisors (including former Senator Carol Moseley Braun, economist Randy Albelda, Kimberly Otis, Jennifer Buffett, Carol Jenkins, and other leaders of national women’s, children’s, media, and economic and political organizations) are currently working with the Urban Institute in Washington DC to develop the Real Wealth of America (RWA) Public Policy initiative as the first step in our Real Wealth of Nations Public Policy Project.
The Real Wealth of Nations Public Policy Project is designed to shift public funding priorities in healthier and more realistic directions.
Many nations already have requirements for economic and environmental impact statements for evaluating proposed legislation and other policies. The Real Wealth of Nations Project proposes the addition of statements measuring the effect of any new program or legislation on our real wealth: people’s health, education, equality, democracy, human capacity development, and other quality of life indicators. It will help shift funding priorities by providing sample metrics and other foundations for policy makers to advance sound priorities. The first phase of the project will be completed in early 2010.

FULL SPECTRUM JOB-CREATION:
INVEST IN CARING FOR PEOPLE
The real wealth of our nation is its people
This proposal urged President Obama and Congress to create and subsidize more jobs in childcare, education, healthcare, eldercare, and other “caring industries” to stimulate our economy, help families, radically reduce poverty and violence, reward women’s economic contributions, save billions in crime and prisons -- and as an essential investment in the “high quality human capital” needed for our post-industrial economy. Please click here for the full proposal. See also oped "Investing in Our Human Infrastructure" on
